Panini Select was a premium release that defined late-era Panini basketball collecting. Known for striking design work and parallel variants that rewarded retail hunters, Select captured the imagination of collectors seeking quality product during the company's final years before losing the NFL and NBA licenses. The blue retail parallels became particularly sought-after for their eye-catching appearance and relative scarcity compared to base versions. LaMelo Ball's rookie year cards remain foundational pieces in modern basketball card collections. His dynamic playing style and immediate impact on the Charlotte Hornets generated substantial collector interest. This Select issue presents him with vibrant photography and design elements that showcase why his rookie cards continue to resonate with both casual fans and serious collectors.
