# Card Notes: Merrill Kelly Topps Series One 2024 represents a landmark release in modern baseball card collecting, continuing Topps' return to MLB licensing after years of absence. As the first major Topps set in the post-monopoly era, Series One carries particular significance for collectors reconnecting with the brand's design language and for those building contemporary player collections. The set balances traditional aesthetic elements with modern production standards, making it a foundational release for the current generation of hobby enthusiasts. Merrill Kelly's card captures the Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher during a pivotal era for the franchise. Collectors value Kelly's cards for representing a key member of the team's competitive rotation, and Series One versions remain popular among those building Diamondbacks team sets or following the pitcher's career arc during his tenure in the majors.
