Surging Sparks arrived in late 2024 as part of Pokémon TCG's ongoing rotation of contemporary sets. The Scarlet and Violet era continued to define modern collecting through competitive play and nostalgia-driven growth. This period represented a maturation of the hobby post-pandemic boom, with sets balancing accessibility and desirable chase cards for veteran and newer players alike. Shellos has long held appeal for collectors drawn to the water-type roster and Gen IV Pokémon. This reverse holo treatment enhances the card's visual appeal, making it particularly attractive to those completing sets or building thematic water-type collections. The gentle aesthetic of Shellos itself resonates across casual and serious collectors alike.
