Pokémon Destined Rivals represents a significant moment in the trading card game's ongoing evolution, arriving during the modern era when Pokémon TCG continues to thrive alongside competitive play and collector enthusiasm. The set builds on the foundation established by recent releases, featuring fresh mechanics and newly introduced Pokémon from the latest games. Like other contemporary sets, it captures the hobby's current focus on beautiful artwork and engaging gameplay design. Dipplin, the apple-dragon evolution, appears here as a reverse holo—a presentation style that appeals to collectors who appreciate the card's full artwork enhanced by subtle reflective treatments. The reverse holo treatment showcases the creature's distinctive design across the entire card surface, making it a compelling pull for those building collections centered on newer Pokémon or pursuing complete set variants.
