Pokemon Journey Together arrived in 2025 as part of The Pokemon Company's continued evolution of the trading card game. This era emphasized artistic diversity and premium illustration treatments, reflecting the hobby's maturation toward collectors who valued both gameplay and gallery-worthy aesthetics. Illustration Rares became signature pulls for these sets, celebrating standout artwork alongside standard releases. Lycanroc 166 showcases one of Alola's most striking rock-type evolutions through its alternate illustration treatment. The card captures the Pokemon's fierce, lupine elegance in a way that appeals to both competitive players and art-focused collectors. These special illustration variants have become cornerstone pieces for trainers building comprehensive collections of their favorite Pokemon across different artistic interpretations.
