Dark Phantasma arrived in 2022 as one of the final Japanese sets before the TCG's major shift toward Scarlet and Violet. It represented a continuation of the Sword and Shield era's darker, more atmospheric design philosophy, featuring moody artwork and compelling character moments. The set has developed a devoted following among collectors who appreciate its aesthetic cohesion and the quality of its reverse holo treatments. Parasect appears in this set with characteristically striking artwork that captures the Pokémon's unsettling nature—part bug, part fungus, wholly fascinating. Collectors seek this reverse holo version for its shimmering treatment, which beautifully complements the card's mysterious tone and elevates one of Pokémon's more polarizing designs.
