Dark Phantasma arrived during Pokémon TCG's peak modern era, releasing in 2022 as the Japanese set that preceded Scarlet & Violet's revolution. The set embraced the franchise's gothic sensibilities with striking artwork and competitive playability, securing its place among collectors who value both aesthetic appeal and strategic relevance from that generation. Gligar appears here in reverse holo treatment, its scorpion-like form rendered with the moody atmosphere Dark Phantasma was known for. The reverse holo effect catches light across the card's intricate artwork, making it a visually engaging pull that appeals equally to set builders completing their Japanese collections and those drawn to the set's distinctive visual identity.
