Shiny Treasure ex represents a landmark release in the Japanese Pokémon TCG, celebrating the visual spectacle of shiny Pokémon with full-art treatments and premium presentation. Released in 2023, this set captured collector enthusiasm during a period of renewed interest in Japanese regional products, offering accessible entry points to the shiny card aesthetic that had previously been more limited in availability. Wattrel appears here as a charming electric-type character rendered in its shiny form, with the distinctive color palette that differentiates it from standard versions. Collectors appreciate shiny cards for their rarity within the Pokémon universe and the artistic opportunity they provide illustrators to reimagine familiar creatures in unexpected ways.
