# Card Notes The 2022 Pokemon Indigo League Gym Leader series captured renewed collector interest in the beloved early-era gym leaders through modern production techniques. This green foil Peru Edition represents a regional variant release, reflecting the global expansion of Pokemon TCG distribution during the post-pandemic trading card boom. These gym leader sets became particularly sought after for their nostalgia value and the vibrant foil treatments that distinguished them from standard releases. Blaine, the volcanic Cinnabar Island gym leader, appears here rendered with the distinctive green foil treatment characteristic of this regional edition. Collectors are drawn to gym leader cards for their connection to the original anime series and their role in the competitive puzzle of the Kanto region. This particular variant appeals to both set builders pursuing regional editions and fans of Blaine's memorable character arc.
