The Indigo League Gym Leader series captured nostalgia from Pokemon's earliest competitive landscape, bringing beloved trainers from the original games into collectible form. Released in 2022, this set arrived during the modern Pokemon TCG renaissance when vintage-inspired products were reintroducing players and collectors to foundational characters and artwork styles. The Peru Edition green foil variant represents regional distribution efforts that made these releases feel special and geographically distinct for international collectors. Lt. Surge appears as one of the Kanto region's most iconic gym leaders, remembered for his electric-type mastery and commanding personality in the original games and anime. His character resonates strongly with collectors seeking representation of the classic eight gym leaders that defined early Pokemon lore. This card captures both the nostalgia and visual appeal that drive interest in Gym Leader-focused products.
