Panini Prestige Alma Maters represented an interesting pivot in 2024, celebrating the college connections of NFL talent during a pivotal moment in the hobby. As Panini wound down its football license, the set offered collectors a different angle—highlighting the programs that developed these players rather than focusing solely on their professional achievements. This thematic approach resonated with fans who valued the development stories behind the athletes. The Smith/Walker/Walker card captures three standout performers united by their alma mater, creating a natural collecting intersection for both program loyalists and those building player collections. These multi-player cards have become increasingly sought after by collectors who appreciate the narrative connections and the opportunity to acquire multiple key names on a single frame.
