Disney Lorcana Fabled represents a pivotal moment in the trading card game's expansion beyond its initial release window. As a promo set in 2025, it continued building on Lorcana's momentum in the collectible card space, introducing alternative artwork and exclusive cards that appealed to both competitive players and collectors seeking unique variants of their favorite characters. Cursed Merfolk captures the darker, more mysterious side of Disney's oceanic characters. The card's atmospheric artwork and villainous theme resonated with collectors drawn to unconventional Disney interpretations and the supernatural elements that appeared throughout Lorcana's storytelling.
