Panini Select Hot Stars represents one of the final premium basketball releases from Panini before the company's licensing agreement with the NBA concluded in 2023. The set captured a pivotal moment in hobby history, blending modern design sensibilities with the premium card stock collectors had come to expect. Select's reputation for bold aesthetics and selective player focus made each release significant among serious enthusiasts.
