Dragon Ball Super's Ultimate Deck series represented a significant moment in the TCG's evolution during the early 2020s, bringing the franchise's rich character roster to competitive play. These expansion sets maintained the strategic depth collectors valued while expanding accessibility beyond Japan's initial releases. The 2022 releases in particular captured renewed fan interest as the anime concluded its major story arcs, making contemporary cards from this period increasingly relevant to the hobby's historical narrative. Cell's "Return of the Ultimate" depicts one of Dragon Ball Z's most iconic villains in a moment of significance. The character's complex legacy—as both antagonist and catalyst for some of the saga's most pivotal battles—resonates deeply with collectors. Cards featuring Cell's transformation and power peaks hold particular appeal for those building thematic collections or pursuing complete character lineups from this era.
