The XY series marked a significant evolution in Pokémon's trading card design philosophy. Released during the franchise's sixth generation, XY introduced updated artwork styles and mechanics that modernized the game while honoring its legacy. The Crosshatch Holo pattern became iconic of this era, offering a distinctive visual aesthetic that collectors still appreciate today for its clean, structured appearance compared to earlier holo treatments. Professor's Letter is a Supporter card featuring one of Pokémon's most recognizable mentor figures. The artwork captures the character in a moment of quiet wisdom, making it appealing both to players who valued its strategic utility and to collectors drawn to the card's illustrative quality. Trainer cards from this period remain popular among those building comprehensive XY collections.
