Destined Rivals marked a significant moment in the Pokémon Trading Card Game's modern era, arriving in 2025 as the hobby continued its robust engagement with vintage-inspired design and competitive relevance. The set balanced nostalgia with contemporary gameplay, drawing collectors who appreciated both the strategic depth of current formats and the aesthetic callbacks that define contemporary releases. Team Rocket's Moltres ex captures the villainous organization's iconic legendaries through a distinctly darker lens. The card's artwork presents Moltres under Team Rocket's influence, appealing to collectors drawn to the organization's aesthetic and those seeking alternative interpretations of classic legendary Pokémon. Ex Pokémon remain central to modern collecting, making this version particularly sought after.
