Pokémon Destined Rivals arrived in 2025 as a set celebrating meaningful character relationships across the franchise's history. The inclusion of Illustration Rare cards elevated the release, offering collectors beautifully rendered alternative artwork versions of iconic moments and pairings. These premium treatments represented a continued evolution in how the TCG honors both nostalgia and artistic expression. Misty's Lapras captures one of the anime's most beloved dynamics—the bond between a trainer and her faithful companion. The Illustration Rare treatment brings this partnership to life through expressive artwork that resonates with longtime fans and newer collectors alike, making it a natural centerpiece for anyone building a Misty collection or appreciating character-focused cards.
