Team Rocket arrived in 2000 as Pokemon's first set centered on villains, marking a bold departure from the heroic narrative of earlier releases. This set captured collectors' imaginations by exploring the darker side of the Pokemon universe, introducing iconic characters and tactics that had previously only appeared in the trading card game's lore. Team Rocket remains a pivotal release that demonstrated the TCG's willingness to innovate beyond the core formula. Squirtle, the water-type starter pokemon, carries special significance within Team Rocket's narrative as a pokemon often associated with the villainous faction. Collectors appreciate this card for its representation of a beloved first-generation favorite reimagined through a villainous lens, making it a sought-after piece for both pokemon enthusiasts and Team Rocket set builders.
