Team Rocket was a landmark set released in 2000, marking the first time the Pokémon TCG ventured into morally gray territory by featuring the notorious criminal organization as heroes. This departure from the traditional good-versus-evil narrative resonated strongly with collectors and remains a cultural touchstone of early 2000s Pokémon collecting. The set's dark aesthetic and unique card designs have maintained enduring appeal across generations of enthusiasts. Dratini, the iconic dragon-type starter, appears in this set as a character caught and trained by Team Rocket operatives. The card captures the mischievous spirit of the set's theme while featuring the gentle serpent that fans know as Dragonite's first form. Collectors appreciate Dratini cards from this era for their nostalgic artwork and connection to both the beloved Pokédex entry and the set's distinctive visual identity.
