Garbage Pail Kids stickers defined irreverent humor in 1980s pop culture and remain highly collectible today. Topps' satirical series launched in 1985 and became a cultural phenomenon, with kids trading these crude parody cards in schoolyards nationwide. The stickers offered edgy comedy that appealed to young collectors despite—or because of—parental disapproval, establishing a legacy that continues to resonate across generations of card enthusiasts. Marty Gras presents the series' signature approach: a pun-based character name paired with darkly comedic artwork. The 135b designation indicates this is an alternate version, part of Topps' strategy of creating multiple card variations within each series. Collectors pursue these sticker variations for their nostalgic charm and the clever visual gags that defined the brand's irreverent humor.
