Signature comparison
This card. The signature as cropped from the slab photo (front).
Below, the known examples Crown compared it with. Examples with stronger proof (signed in front of staff, or certified by an independent authenticator) carry the most weight.
Feature by feature
| Feature | This card | Known examples | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Overall form and proportions | Abbreviated two-part autograph: a compact zigzag 'M' with a trailing small letterform, a gap, then a tall 'P'-based second unit with a cross-stroke and a long trailing finish. The first unit is shorter and denser than the second. | R1–R8 show the same two-unit abbreviation, with the zigzag 'M' unit first and a 'P' unit with crossing and extended terminal second. Relative proportions are similar, most closely in R4, R6 and R7. | Match |
| Slant and baseline | Written along the card's long edge, rotated about 90° relative to the art. Relative to the writing direction it rises slightly left to right, with a mild forward slant in the 'P' unit. | References are written horizontally with a slight upward baseline and forward lean (R1, R4, R8). | Natural variation |
| Letter construction | 'M' is an angular down-up-down zigzag with sharp apexes. The 'P' is a tall stem with a bowl and a horizontal cross that resembles a 't'. | Same angular zigzag 'M' in all references (very clear in R1, R4, R8). Same 'P' with stem, bowl and 't'-like cross in R1, R2, R5, R6. | Match |
| Connecting strokes | The 'M' runs continuously into a short trailing stroke, then a pen lift before the 'P' unit. | The same lift between the two units appears consistently (R1, R3, R4, R5, R8). | Match |
| Starting and ending strokes | Starts with a quick entry into the first downstroke of the 'M'. Ends with a long, tapering horizontal tail after the 'P' unit. | Similar quick entries. The extended tapered terminal after the cross is visible in R1, R4, R6, R8. | Match |
| Line quality and speed | In the crop, strokes look fluid and confident with tapered ends. No visible tremor or hesitation at this resolution. | Fast, fluent marker strokes throughout. | Match |
| Pen pressure pattern | Ink density varies, heavier on downstrokes of the 'M' and lighter in the tail. Not uniform. | Similar modulation in R4, R5, R7 (felt-tip on gloss). | Match |
| Spacing | Clear gap between the 'M' unit and the 'P' unit, roughly one letter width. | Comparable gap in R1, R3, R4, R5, R8. | Match |
| Flourishes and underlines | No separate underline. The terminal tail serves as the flourish. | No underlines. The terminal tail serves as the flourish (R1, R8). | Match |
| Placement and size | Placed vertically in open green/dark background space to the right of the character. Proportionate to the card, roughly a third of its height. | References are placed horizontally in open space, often lower areas of the art. Orientation differs, but placing the autograph in available empty space is consistent with artist-signed stickers. | Natural variation |
| Ink and pen | Dark teal / blue-green marker. | Mix of blue (R1, R3, R8), black (R2, R5, R6), and dark green/teal (R4, R7). | Natural variation |
Examiner notes
Ours is on a 2024 Slop Culture Kids sticker (No. 85a), so it was signed in 2024 or later. All eight references are contemporary artist-autographed parody sticker and card releases: R1 is Horrorible Kids Series 9 and R2–R8 are Nintendopes Open Edition, roughly 2022–2024. Pingitore's abbreviated autograph is stable across this short window. Differences between the references come from pen (blue paint pen vs. black, green or teal markers) and from the glossy, colored sticker surfaces, not from career evolution.
How Crown authenticates autographs: the signature is compared with known examples gathered from Crown's own authenticated cards, independent authenticators and public listings, measured by software, examined by an AI forensic model, and signed off by Crown Grading staff. The decision above is Crown's.
