Signature comparison
This card. The signature as cropped from the slab photo (front).
Below, the known examples Crown compared it with. Examples with stronger proof (signed in front of staff, or certified by an independent authenticator) carry the most weight.
Feature by feature
| Feature | This card | Known examples | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Overall form and proportions | Compact two-part abbreviated signature. A zigzag 'M' with an 'l'-like tail reads roughly as 'Nl'. After a gap comes a tall-stemmed 'P' with a compressed trailing 'gt'-style group and a long horizontal crossbar to the right. | R1, R2, R3, R5, R7 and R8 show the same two-group structure: a zigzag M group, a gap, a tall P, then a compressed tail ending in an extended horizontal stroke. | Match |
| Slant and baseline | Written along the card's long edge, rotated about 90° relative to the card. In its own frame it has a slight right slant and a roughly level baseline, with the tail rising slightly. | R1 to R8 show a mild right slant and a level to slightly rising baseline. R4 and R6 are somewhat more upright and compressed. | Match |
| Letter construction | The 'M' is a quick angular up-down-up zigzag finishing in a looped or tall 'l' stroke. The 'P' is a tall downstroke with a small bowl, and the bowl runs into a cursive tail. | R1, R2, R3 and R8 show the same zigzag M with an 'l' finish and the same tall P stem with a small bowl. R6 is the most abbreviated of the set. | Match |
| Connecting strokes | Pen lift between the first-name group and the P. The P bowl connects fluidly into the tail letters. | The same lift and connection pattern appears across R1, R2, R3, R5, R7 and R8. | Match |
| Starting and ending strokes | Starts with a tapered entry stroke on the M. Ends with a long, fast horizontal crossbar or terminal that tapers off to the right. | R1 and R2 show the extended terminal crossbar most clearly. R5, R7 and R8 show similar tapered exits. | Match |
| Line quality and speed | Strokes look fluid and rapid, with tapered ends. No tremor or hesitation is visible at this resolution. | All references show fast, confident line quality. | Match |
| Pen pressure pattern | Ink density varies, heavier on downstrokes and lighter on the tapers. Some skipping-like lightening appears on the strokes. | R1 and R6 (blue marker) show similar density variation and skipping. The black-ink references vary by surface. | Match |
| Spacing | Moderate gap between the M group and the P. The tail letters are tightly compressed. | Similar spacing throughout. R4 is somewhat tighter. | Natural variation |
| Flourishes and underlines | No underline. The extended terminal stroke serves as the flourish. | No underlines in the references. The extended terminal appears in R1, R2 and R5. | Match |
| Placement and size | Large blue signature running vertically along the right side, over the background and the edge of the character art. | Reference placement mostly cannot be seen in the crops. R1 is in blue on an autograph card, and R4, R5, R7 and R8 overlap artwork. | Natural variation |
| Ink / medium | Blue marker or felt-tip. | R1 and R6 are blue. The others are black or dark blue. Pen color varies by signing session. | Natural variation |
Examiner notes
Our card is a 2024 Mutagen Canister Kids Stickers Open Edition, No. 45b. All eight references are recent Magic Marker Art / Mark Pingitore parody sticker and card releases, likely from about 2023 to 2024. Nintendopes, Slop Culture Kids and Horrorible Kids Series 9 come from the same period of artist-signed open-edition product. No meaningful era gap exists, so the comparison is contemporaneous.
How Crown authenticates autographs: the signature is compared with known examples gathered from Crown's own authenticated cards, independent authenticators and public listings, measured by software, examined by an AI forensic model, and signed off by Crown Grading staff. The decision above is Crown's.
