Signature comparison
This card. The signature as cropped from the slab photo (front).
Below, the known examples Crown compared it with. Examples with stronger proof (signed in front of staff, or certified by an independent authenticator) carry the most weight.
Feature by feature
| Feature | This card | Known examples | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Overall form and proportions | Two-part signature: a compressed zigzag 'M' fused with an 'l'-like upstroke, then a larger 'P' unit with a long trailing horizontal stroke. Written vertically along the right edge of the artwork. | Every reference shows the same two-part structure: a zigzag 'Ml'/'Nl' unit, a gap, then a 'P'-based unit ending in a long horizontal stroke (R1, R3, R6, R7 most clearly). | Match |
| Slant and baseline | Strong rightward slant in the first-name unit. Baseline is fairly level relative to the signing orientation. | Consistent rightward slant and level-to-slightly-rising baseline across R1–R8. | Match |
| Letter construction | 'M' is made as sharp angular peaks with a tall final loop or upstroke. 'P' has a tall stem and a closed bowl, and the remaining letters are compressed into a short looped form. | Same angular 'M' peaks and tall final upstroke (R1, R3, R4, R6, R8). The 'P' stem and bowl are present, and the later letters vary from legible 'gt' (R1, R6) to heavily abbreviated (R7, R8). | Natural variation |
| Connecting strokes | The 'M' and 'l' run continuously. There is a pen lift before the surname unit. | Continuous first-name unit with a lift before the 'P' in all references. | Match |
| Starting and ending strokes | Starts with a short lead-in at the base of the 'M'. Ends with an extended, tapering horizontal tail. | Same lead-in, and a long tapering terminal stroke (R1, R2, R3, R6, R7 especially). | Match |
| Line quality and speed | Fluid, confident strokes with tapered ends. No visible tremor or hesitation at this resolution. | Fast, fluid marker strokes throughout. | Match |
| Pen pressure pattern | Felt-tip marker with mild density variation. Lighter, skipping areas appear on the tail and turns. | Similar marker density variation. R7 shows notable skipping on a glossy surface, comparable to ours. | Match |
| Spacing | Clear gap between the first-name unit and the surname unit. The surname unit is compressed. | Same gap and a compressed surname unit. | Match |
| Flourishes and underlines | No underline. The terminal horizontal stroke acts as the flourish. | No underlines. The long terminal stroke is the habitual flourish. | Match |
| Placement and size | Signed vertically in open background space to the right of the character. Medium size. | References are signed in open areas of the artwork, generally horizontal. Orientation varies with the available space. | Natural variation |
| Reproduction indicators | No halftone or dot pattern is visible at this resolution. Ink appears to sit on the surface, with natural skipping. | N/A | Not assessable |
Examiner notes
Our card is a 2024 Mutagen Canister Kids sticker. That is the same contemporary era as the Nintendopes Open Edition references (R2–R6, R8) and the Magic Marker Art Slop Culture and Horrorible Kids references (R1, R7). All appear to be recent artist-signed sticker cards from roughly 2023–2024, so no meaningful era drift is expected. Differences in marker colour and surface (glossy sticker stock) are routine.
How Crown authenticates autographs: the signature is compared with known examples gathered from Crown's own authenticated cards, independent authenticators and public listings, measured by software, examined by an AI forensic model, and signed off by Crown Grading staff. The decision above is Crown's.
