Printed or copied?
In the provided image the ink shows stroke-to-stroke density variation and tapered ends rather than flat uniform color. No halftone or dot pattern is discernible at this resolution, and the signature sits over the printed art in non-standard orientation, which argues against a facsimile. Image resolution cannot rule out reproduction or confirm ink sitting on top of the surface coating; physical inspection is required.
Decision
Authenticated by Crown Grading after staff review.

Feature by feature

FeatureThis cardKnown examplesResult
Overall form and proportionsAbbreviated two-cluster signature: an angular zigzag 'M' cluster, a gap, then a 'P' with a descending loop and a horizontal 't'-like crossing stroke at the end.R1, R3, R5 and R6 show the identical two-cluster structure with similar width-to-height ratio. R2, R4, R7 and R8 show the same scheme in black ink.Match
Slant and baselineStrong rightward slant on the opening 'M' strokes. The baseline runs along the card's long edge because the signature is written vertically.Rightward slant on the 'M' is seen in all references. Baselines run horizontally on the references, as they are cropped from different card orientations.Natural variation
Letter construction'M' is made of rapid sawtooth up-down strokes with a short trailing hook. 'P' is a tall upright stroke with a bowl and a lower loop or descender.R1 and R6 show the same sawtooth 'M' and the upright 'P' with descender loop. R3 and R5 are near-identical in construction.Match
Connecting strokes'M' cluster is written in one continuous motion. There is a pen lift before the 'P' section. The same lift between the clusters appears consistently in R1–R8.Match
Starting and ending strokesStarts with a quick entry upstroke into the 'M'. Ends with a long horizontal terminal stroke extending past the 'P' cluster.R1 and R6 show the same long horizontal terminal. Shorter terminals in R4 and R7 fall within normal variation.Match
Line quality and speedFluid, confident strokes with tapered ends and some thinning on fast strokes. No visible tremor or hesitation at this resolution.References show similarly fast, fluent execution.Match
Pen pressure patternHeavier on the downstrokes of the 'M' and the 'P' stem, lighter on connectors. Some ink-density variation is visible.Similar pressure pattern in R1 and R6 (blue ink) and in the black-ink references.Match
SpacingModerate gap between the 'M' and 'P' clusters.Comparable spacing across the references.Match
Flourishes and underlinesNone beyond the terminal horizontal stroke.None in the references.Match
Placement and sizeBlue ink, written vertically along the right side of the sticker over the artwork and red background. Size is proportionate to the card.Placement varies across references (horizontal on different backgrounds). Blue ink matches R1, R3 and R6.Natural variation

Examiner notes

Our card is a 2024 Mutagen Canister Kids open-edition artist auto, the same modern sticker-card period as the Nintendopes references (R2–R8) and the Horrorible Kids Series 9 card (R1). No era-driven change is expected, and none is seen. All references show the same compact two-part 'M ... P/t' abbreviated signature.

How Crown authenticates autographs: the signature is compared with known examples gathered from Crown's own authenticated cards, independent authenticators and public listings, measured by software, examined by an AI forensic model, and signed off by Crown Grading staff. The decision above is Crown's.
