Printed or copied?
At the available resolution, the ink shows variable density and tapered stroke ends consistent with a marker. No halftone or dot pattern is evident in the crop. The signature varies naturally from every reference, so it is not a pixel-identical facsimile. Because it sits on a glossy sticker surface, whether the ink is on top of the gloss cannot be confirmed from a photo.

FeatureThis cardKnown examplesResult
Overall form and proportionsAbbreviated two-part signature: a compressed angular 'M' form, a gap, then a taller 'P' leading into a reduced 'gt' and a long horizontal terminal bar. The 'M' group is about 40% of the width. The same two-part abbreviated structure appears in R1, R2, R3, R6, R7 and R8, with similar proportions between the M group and the P group.Match
Slant and baselineSlight rightward slant. The baseline rises gently toward the end, with the P stem extending below the baseline.R1, R6 and R8 show the same mild right slant and the descending P stem. R3 and R7 are slightly more upright.Natural variation
Letter constructionThe 'M' is built as an up-down zigzag with a looped or hooked 'l'-like riser, followed by a separate cupped stroke. The 'P' has a long downstroke and a flat-topped bowl that runs into the 'gt' strokes. The zigzag M with riser and following cup stroke is clearly seen in R1, R2, R6 and R8. The P with flat bowl and following angular strokes appears in R1, R2 and R6.Match
Connecting strokesThe M group and P group are separated by a pen lift. Within each group, strokes are connected. The pen lift between groups is consistent across all references.Match
Starting and ending strokesThe start is a tapered entry. The end is a long, thin horizontal crossbar extending right with a tapered finish.R1, R6 and R8 show the same long tapered terminal bar. R2 and R7 show a shorter version.Match
Line quality and speedFluid strokes with tapered terminals and variable width. No visible tremor or hesitation at this resolution.References show similar fast marker execution.Match
Pen pressure patternHeavier on the downstrokes of the M and the P stem, lighter on the terminal bar.A similar pattern is visible in R1, R6 and R8.Match
SpacingModerate gap between the M and P groups.Comparable gap in R1, R2, R6 and R8.Match
Flourishes and underlinesNo underline. The extended terminal bar acts as the only flourish.Same in references.Match
Placement and sizeBlue marker, signed vertically along the left edge of the sticker over the green/blue background, sized to card height.Reference crops do not show full-card placement. Ink colors vary (blue in R1, R3, R6, R8; black in R2, R4, R5, R7). Size relative to card appears similar. Not assessable

Examiner notes

Our card is a 2021 Nintendopes Stickers Open Edition artist auto. References R2–R8 come from the same Nintendopes set, so they are the same era and surface type. R1 is a Magic Marker Art Horrorible Kids Series 9 card from a similar period. No era-related drift is expected, and none is seen.

How Crown authenticates autographs: the signature is compared with known examples gathered from Crown's own authenticated cards, independent authenticators and public listings, measured by software, examined by an AI forensic model, and signed off by Crown Grading staff. The decision above is Crown's.
