Handwriting
Matches the known signatures it was compared with. (8 known signatures)
Printed or copied?
At available resolution the strokes show natural width and density variation and no printed dot or halftone pattern. The ink appears to overlay the printed lightning bolts rather than sit beneath them. Live ink versus surface position on the sticker gloss cannot be confirmed from the photo; a loupe check through the holder is needed.
Decision
Authenticated by Crown Grading after staff review.

Feature by feature

FeatureThis cardKnown examplesResult
Overall form and proportionsAbbreviated 'M' as a sharp zigzag with a looped 'l'-like trailing stroke. Then a 'P' with a short bowl, a small 'g/t' cluster, and a long horizontal terminal stroke.Same two-part abbreviated structure in R1–R7. R8 is more compressed and scribbled, but has the same first-initial build.Match
Slant and baselineStrong right slant on the 'M' strokes. The baseline rises slightly left to right relative to the signature axis; it was signed vertically along the card's left edge.Right-slanted 'M' strokes and a slightly rising baseline in R1, R3, R4 and R7.Match
Letter construction'M' built from a tall downstroke, angular peaks and a cursive 'l' loop. 'P' formed with a vertical stem and a compact bowl flowing into the 'gt' cluster.Same 'M' construction in R1, R4 and R7. 'P' stem and bowl with the following cluster match R1, R2 and R7.Match
Connecting strokesSingle pen lift between the 'M' unit and the 'P' unit. The 'P' unit runs connected into the terminal.Same single lift between initials across R1–R7.Match
Starting and ending strokesThe 'M' starts from a tapered entry. The signature ends in a long, tapered horizontal stroke to the right.Long horizontal terminal in R1, R3, R4 and R7. Tapered entry visible in R1 and R7.Match
Line quality and speedFluid, confident marker strokes with natural width variation and no visible tremor or hesitation at this resolution.Fast, fluid strokes throughout R1–R7.Match
Pen pressure patternHeavier on downstrokes and lighter on the terminal. Ink density varies naturally.Similar heavy downstrokes and lighter tails in R1, R5 and R7.Match
SpacingModerate gap between the 'M' and 'P' units, consistent with the references.Comparable inter-initial spacing in R2–R7.Match
Flourishes and underlinesNo underline. The long horizontal terminal acts as the flourish. No underline in any reference. A terminal extension is present in most.Match
Placement and sizeWritten vertically along the left edge over the art, crossing the lightning graphics. Blue marker.Reference crops are oriented horizontally, so their placement on the card is not shown. Ink color varies between black and blue (R1, R7 and R8 are blue).Natural variation
Reproduction indicatorsNo halftone or dot pattern is visible in the crop. Ink appears to sit over the printed lightning, but resolution is limited.N/ANot assessable

Examiner notes

Our card is a 2021 Nintendopes Stickers Open Edition artist auto. R2–R7 are from the same release, so the same era. R1 (Horrorible Kids S9) and R8 (Slop Culture Kids) are later Magic Marker Art releases from roughly the same period, 2021–2023. No era-driven change is expected or observed; all show the same abbreviated 'M P' marker form.

How Crown authenticates autographs: the signature is compared with known examples gathered from Crown's own authenticated cards, independent authenticators and public listings, measured by software, examined by an AI forensic model, and signed off by Crown Grading staff. The decision above is Crown's.
