The Pokemon Snap Smart Card series emerged from the 1999 Pokemon Snap video game, a unique partnership between Nintendo and Blockbuster Video. These cards were distributed as promotional items at Blockbuster locations and represented an unconventional entry into the Pokemon trading card market—distinct from the mainstream TCG, they captured the playful spirit of the Snap game's photography mechanic and introduced many collectors to Pokemon during the franchise's explosive growth. Charmander, one of the generation's most beloved starter Pokemon, appears on these cards with vibrant artwork reflecting the Snap game's colorful aesthetic. As a foundational Pokemon and fan favorite, Charmander cards remain sought after by collectors building comprehensive collections and those nostalgic for late-90s Pokemon nostalgia and Blockbuster's cultural moment.
