Gym Heroes arrived in 2000 as the first set revisiting the Gym Leaders introduced in the original Game Boy games. It marked an important evolution for the Pokémon TCG, moving beyond simple base set reprints to explore specific trainers and their signature Pokémon. The set resonated with players who valued the deeper connection to game lore and remains a cornerstone of late 90s-early 2000s collecting. Brock's Vulpix represents one of the set's defining characteristics—pairing iconic trainers with their memorable team members. Vulpix's elegant design and Brock's role as a beloved gym leader make this card particularly appealing to collectors drawn to character-driven releases and the nostalgia of Kanto's gym challenge.
