Fleer's 1988 All-Star Team set captured basketball's brightest talents during a golden era of the sport. Released as collectors were embracing modern card production and design, these cards represented some of the era's most distinctive photography and graphics. The set remains a cornerstone of late-1980s basketball card collecting, when Fleer's innovative approach helped fuel genuine mainstream interest in the hobby. Akeem Olajuwon appears here as one of the set's marquee subjects, showcasing the young center during his ascent toward superstardom. The card presents him during a remarkable period of his career, making it a significant marker for collectors building around this transformative decade in both basketball and card collecting history.
