Pokemon Celebrations was released in 2021 to mark 25 years of the Trading Card Game. The set honored the franchise's history by reimagining classic cards and characters from earlier eras, introducing both longtime collectors and newer fans to the hobby's foundational moments. It became one of the most accessible and widely opened modern releases, making it a gateway set for many collectors entering the hobby during the pandemic-era card boom. Imposter Professor Oak presents the beloved character in an unconventional role, departing from his familiar appearances as a mentor figure. The playful artwork and unexpected take on this iconic character made it an appealing pull for collectors who appreciate the set's nostalgic reimaginings and creative interpretations of Pokemon lore.
