Dark Phantasma arrived in 2022 as a landmark set bridging Pokémon Sword and Shield with Scarlet and Violet's upcoming Hisuian regional forms. The set captured collectors' imaginations by introducing beloved Pokémon reimagined through Legends: Arceus's ancient Sinnoh aesthetic. Japanese reverse holos from this era became particularly sought after for their elegant foil patterns and the freshness of these newly-revealed creature designs. Hisuian Sliggoo represents the appeal perfectly—a Dragon-type gastropod molusk with striking regional characteristics distinct from its Kalos predecessor. Collectors gravitate toward Hisuian evolution lines for their unique visual interpretations and the nostalgia of discovering familiar Pokémon anew through a historical lens.
