This 2016 UNO collaboration brought Nintendo's beloved Mario universe to the classic card game, creating a novelty crossover that appealed to both gaming fans and casual players. The set captured a moment when licensed UNO decks were experiencing renewed popularity, transforming the familiar mechanics into themed experiences. Nintendo's franchises were particularly well-suited to this treatment, and the Super Mario edition became one of the more recognizable variants from that era of specialty UNO releases. Waluigi represents one of the set's character selections, the lanky purple antagonist who'd carved out his own niche in the Mario universe despite relative rarity in mainstream appearances. Collectors seek this card as part of completing the full character roster, while fans appreciate having their less-celebrated favorite rendered in UNO's distinctive style.
