The Nintendo UNO Super Mario collaboration brought beloved video game characters to the classic card game format in 2016, creating a natural crossover for collectors who appreciate both franchises. This officially licensed set represented a notable moment when major gaming properties embraced alternative card products beyond traditional trading cards, appealing to casual players and serious collectors alike during the height of nostalgia-driven merchandise.
