# Card Notes The Nintendo UNO Super Mario collaboration represents a unique bridge between two iconic gaming franchises, bringing Mario's colorful cast to the classic card game format. Released in 2016, this set captured the nostalgia of Super Mario fans while introducing the property to UNO players. Licensed crossover card games of this era were relatively uncommon, making this set a distinctive entry in both the Mario merchandise landscape and specialty card game collecting. The Koopalings Wild Card features the memorable turtle-shelled antagonists from the Super Mario universe. These characters carry particular significance for players who grew up with the NES and SNES generations, where the Koopalings served as memorable castle bosses. Wild Cards are sought after in UNO sets for their gameplay utility and visual appeal, and this Mario-themed version offers collectors both functional play value and nostalgic character artwork.
