Union Arena brought trading card games to anime properties with fresh mechanics and strong collectible appeal. The Yu Yu Hakusho release marked one of the franchise's most substantial card game treatments, introducing fans to a modern TCG experience tied to the beloved supernatural battle series. Store tournament promos from this era represent the grassroots competitive community that built early momentum for the game. Hiei appears here as a powerful character card capturing the dark swordsman in his intense competitive form. The tournament promo designation reflects this card's desirability among players and collectors alike—earned through actual competitive play rather than standard retail distribution. Fans of the series recognize Hiei's significance as a core member of the main cast, making his representation in the game's premium promo offerings particularly sought after.
