The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle Earth set represents a significant licensed collaboration between Wizards of the Coast and the Tolkien Estate. Released in 2023, it brought one of fantasy's most beloved narratives into Magic's card frame, offering both longtime fans and collectors a chance to engage with Middle Earth through the trading card medium. The set's borderless treatments became particularly sought after for their striking visual presentation. Merry stands as one of the set's most recognizable characters, and this rare borderless version captures the hobbit's spirited personality through its artwork. Collectors appreciate the iconic characters from Tolkien's works, and Merry's role as a pivotal figure in the Fellowship makes him especially resonant. Borderless versions of popular characters continue to attract those building thematic collections or celebrating the property itself.
