Pokemon EX Dragon arrived in 2003 as a landmark set, introducing the EX mechanic that fundamentally changed the game's competitive landscape. By allowing players to deal extra damage while taking increased risk, EX cards created strategic depth that resonated with both casual and serious collectors. The set remains a cornerstone of early 2000s Pokemon nostalgia, representing the era when the TCG experienced a major resurgence in popularity and competitive play. Trapinch, a ground-type Pokemon with a distinctive ant-lion design, appears as card 79 in this pivotal release. The card showcases appealing artwork that captures the creature's unique desert-dwelling nature. Collectors appreciate Trapinch both as a foundational Pokemon in its evolutionary line and as part of Dragon set's comprehensive Pokedex representation from that generation.
