Panini's 2015 Dragon Ball Z: Heroes and Villains set arrived during a pivotal moment in DBZ collectibles, when the franchise was experiencing renewed momentum following years of relative quiet. This release bridged the gap between vintage Bandai-era cards and modern anime trading card culture, offering fans and collectors an accessible entry point into contemporary DBZ cardboard. The set's focus on both heroes and villains reflected the franchise's enduring appeal across its full cast. Trunks appears here as the capable swordsman and time-traveling prince, a character whose popularity has only grown since his introduction. Collectors value Trunks cards for their connection to some of Dragon Ball Z's most compelling story arcs, and this Heroes and Villains edition captures him during his most iconic moments. His presence in the set underscores why this release resonated with both longtime fans and newer collectors discovering the property.
