Pokémon Destined Rivals represents a significant chapter in the modern trading card game, arriving during an era of sustained collector interest and competitive play. The set continues the tradition of exploring character rivalries and relationships within the Pokémon universe, offering a blend of nostalgic favorites and contemporary designs that appeal across generations of collectors. Like its predecessors, it balances accessibility with chase elements that keep the hobby engaging. Mudsdale, the powerful Ground-type evolution, appears here in reverse holo form—a presentation that accentuates the card's artwork through its textured finish. Collectors are drawn to Mudsdale cards for the Pokémon's popularity among competitive players and its striking visual presence. The reverse holo treatment makes this a particularly appealing version for those building themed collections or seeking alternative presentations of key Pokédex entries.
