Pokémon Destined Rivals arrived in 2025 as part of the trading card game's ongoing exploration of character-driven set design. The era saw the TCG balancing competitive gameplay with collector appeal through thoughtfully curated card selections and visual presentation. Reverse holographic cards remained a staple format, offering collectors an alternative aesthetic to standard holos while maintaining accessibility and visual interest. Hippopotas appears here in its reverse holo treatment, capturing the hippo Pokémon in characteristic form. Collectors appreciate Hippopotas for its gentle design contrast—a surprisingly endearing creature given its bulky nature. The reverse holo finish on this card creates dimensional appeal for those building thematic collections or pursuing complete set runs.
