Pokémon Destined Rivals arrived in 2025 as a set celebrating meaningful character pairings throughout the franchise. It marked a notable pivot in modern Pokémon TCG design, emphasizing narrative connections and rivalry dynamics over pure competitive staples. The set resonated with collectors seeking cards that honored the emotional depth of the games and anime, capturing why so many players remain invested in these characters across decades. Cynthia's Feebas pairs the formidable Sinnoh Champion with one of Pokémon's most humble creatures. The reverse holo treatment elevates this unlikely pairing into something visually striking, creating appeal for both Cynthia enthusiasts and those who appreciate the character study in choosing Feebas—a creature defined by potential and transformation, much like Cynthia's own narrative journey.
