Pokémon Sword and Shield's Scarlet and Violet era brought fresh energy to the TCG with set designs that emphasized character-driven storytelling. Destined Rivals captures this spirit by featuring trainers and their companions at pivotal moments, celebrating both classic and newer faces in the franchise. The reverse holo treatment became increasingly popular during this period as collectors sought the subtle shimmer and visual appeal these versions offered. Arven's Maschiff presents the bond between trainer and Pokémon with appealing artwork that resonates with players of the games. Arven's storyline made him memorable to modern audiences, and seeing his partnership with Maschiff immortalized on card form appeals to both set collectors and character enthusiasts. Reverse holos of character-specific cards like this one remain popular pulls from their sets.
