Destined Rivals represents the modern era of Pokémon TCG collecting, arriving during a period of renewed enthusiasm for the game. This 2025 release continues the tradition of celebrating iconic characters and storylines from the franchise, offering both competitive players and collectors fresh takes on beloved mechanics and designs. The reverse holo pattern creates visual depth that appeals to collectors seeking aesthetic variations beyond traditional full-art cards. Team Rocket's Grimer captures the appeal of villainous Pokémon and the nostalgia of the original Team Rocket storyline. The character's toxic nature and distinctive design translate well to card artwork, making it a natural draw for collectors who favor antagonist characters and thematic team builds. Grimer cards remain popular across the hobby for their combination of playability and character recognition.
