The Disney100 Weiss Schwarz set arrived in 2023 as a landmark release celebrating a century of Disney animation. This Japanese TCG collaboration honored the studio's legacy by featuring iconic characters across multiple sets, capturing collector enthusiasm for both Disney nostalgia and Weiss Schwarz's dynamic card aesthetic. The release represented a significant moment when Western IP continued gaining prominence in Japanese trading card culture. Captain Hook appears here as one of Disney's most memorable villains, the theatrical antagonist from Peter Pan whose elaborate costumes and dramatic flair translate beautifully to card artwork. Collectors pursue Disney character cards for the intersection of animation history and card artistry, particularly when depicting these complex, richly-designed figures that defined classic animation.
