Revised Edition, released in 1994, represented Magic's third core set and marked the beginning of the modern era. It was the first set printed at scale for wider distribution, establishing the foundational card pool that would define competitive play for years. Revised brought Magic from a niche phenomenon to a genuine collectible card game, making it a crucial touchstone in the hobby's history. Volcanic Island is one of the original dual lands, prized for its utility across multiple formats and strategies. The card's artwork captures an iconic fantasy landscape that defined early Magic aesthetics. Collectors seek these dual lands as both functional staples and windows into the game's creative origins, with Revised printings holding particular significance for players and enthusiasts alike.
