Panini Illusions arrived in 2021 as the company's final NBA release before losing its licensing agreement. The set is remembered for its creative design approach and the sense of urgency collectors felt knowing it would be the last new Panini basketball product. It represents a natural stopping point for a brand that had been central to the hobby for over a decade. LeBron James card #96 captures one of basketball's greatest players during his tenure with the Lakers. The Illusions design philosophy emphasizes visual intrigue through layered imagery and distinctive borders. LeBron cards from this era remain popular with collectors building complete sets or seeking final-year Panini examples of the league's marquee names.
