Neo Genesis marked Pokemon's return to the trading card game in 2000 after a hiatus, introducing the Johto region and reconnecting collectors with the franchise during a period of renewed interest. This set represented a fresh beginning for the hobby, blending nostalgic appeal with new mechanics and artwork that defined the early 2000s collecting era. Bayleef, the Grass-type evolution of Chikorita, appears as a mid-stage Pokemon in this set. As part of the starter line that anchors Neo Genesis, this card captures the appeal of Johto's iconic trio and remains a natural target for players and collectors building complete evolution families.
