Neo Genesis marked Pokemon's return to the Trading Card Game after a brief hiatus, arriving in 2000 as a reimagined foundation set. It introduced fresh artwork styles and mechanics while honoring the original 1999 base set, making it a pivotal release for players and collectors rebuilding their collections during the franchise's resurgence. Gloom represents the classic middle evolution of Oddish, captured in appealing mid-era Pokemon illustration. Collectors appreciate this card as part of the complete evolutionary line, and Neo Genesis versions hold particular appeal for those seeking the set's distinctive visual aesthetic and nostalgic connection to the hobby's early 2000s period.
