Signature comparison
This card. The signature as cropped from the slab photo (front).
Below, the known examples Crown compared it with. Examples with stronger proof (signed in front of staff, or certified by an independent authenticator) carry the most weight.
Feature by feature
| Feature | This card | Known examples | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Overall form and proportions | Two-word 'Pam Rose', full name, horizontal. Large capital P and R; small, compressed lower-case 'am' and 'ose'. | R6 (Topps card) shows a near-identical layout and proportion. R4, R7, R1 and R5 share the large-capital/small-lowercase ratio. R3 is abbreviated and larger. | Match |
| Slant and baseline | Near-horizontal baseline with a slight rise into 'Rose'; mild rightward slant. | R6 is horizontal, matching ours. R4, R7, R5 and R8 rise slightly to the right. R1 and R3 are steeply angled, but that reflects placement on 10x8 photos. | Natural variation |
| Letter construction | P is a tall stem with a separate open bowl. 'am' runs as a rounded garland. R has a large looped bowl and a kicked leg. 'ose' is compressed, and the terminal 'e' ends in a descending tail so the word reads like 'Rosy'. | The 'Rosy'-like terminal with a descender appears in R1, R4, R5, R7, R8 and R6. The separate P bowl and the looped R appear in R6, R7, R4 and R2. | Match |
| Connecting strokes | P is disconnected from 'am'; 'am' is connected; the R leg flows into 'ose'. | Same pattern in R6, R7 and R4. | Match |
| Starting and ending strokes | The P starts with a light lead-in at the stem. The final stroke is a tapered descending tail. | R6, R4 and R7 show similar tapered terminals. R1 and R3 have heavier marker ends consistent with a broad tip. | Match |
| Line quality and speed | Fluid strokes with natural width variation. No visible tremor, hesitation or patching at this resolution. | The references show fluent, rapid execution comparable to ours. | Match |
| Pen pressure pattern | Slight density variation; heavier on the P stem and R bowl, lighter on connectors. | Similar emphasis visible in R6 and R7; the marker references are less informative. | Natural variation |
| Spacing | Moderate gap between 'Pam' and 'Rose'; tight letters within words. | Consistent with R6, R4 and R7. | Match |
| Flourishes and underlines | None; no character name, no 'xxx'. | Private and convention signings add 'Jeesub Sirln', inscriptions and 'xxx'. The R6 Topps card is name-only like ours, as expected for a certified card format. | Natural variation |
| Placement and size | Centered in the designated autograph area of the card, sized to fit. | R6 shows comparable on-card placement. Photo references are larger and freer, as expected. | Natural variation |
Examiner notes
Our signature is on a 2015 Topps Star Wars Masterwork autograph card, so it was likely signed around 2014-2015 for Topps. R6, a Topps Star Wars Black & White autograph card, is likely from the same era and signing context, making it the most directly comparable. The other references (R1, R2, R4, R5, R7, R8) look like convention or private-signing photos from roughly the 2000s-2020s. They typically add the character name 'Jeesub Sirln', inscriptions and 'xxx'. R3 is a broad, fast marker version on a dark textured surface. None of the differences suggest an era-driven change in letterforms; the 'Pam Rose' core is stable across the set.
How Crown authenticates autographs: the signature is compared with known examples gathered from Crown's own authenticated cards, independent authenticators and public listings, measured by software, examined by an AI forensic model, and signed off by Crown Grading staff. The decision above is Crown's.
