Signature comparison
This card. The signature as cropped from the slab photo (front).
Below, the known examples Crown compared it with. Examples with stronger proof (signed in front of staff, or certified by an independent authenticator) carry the most weight.
Feature by feature
| Feature | This card | Known examples | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Overall form and proportions | Large looped 'E', small compressed middle letters, then a dominant large oval loop rising above the name and a trailing rightward finish. | R1, R2, R4, R5 and R7 all show the same architecture: tall looped E, small compressed 'rica', large oval surname loop, extended terminal. R4 is especially close in the proportion of the oval to the E. | Match |
| Slant and baseline | Mild rightward rise, baseline roughly horizontal across the text box. | References run horizontal to slightly rising (R1, R4, R7). R8 is more upright. | Natural variation |
| Letter construction | E built as a cursive loop with a horizontal entry. Middle letters are reduced to small humps. The surname is reduced to an oval loop plus a terminal hook. | Same reduction seen in R2, R4 and R7. R5/R6 show more legible 'rica' and surname letters on a slower, larger surface. | Match |
| Connecting strokes | Continuous flow from the E into the middle letters. The oval appears to be a separate sweep that crosses back over the first name. | R4 and R7 show the oval crossing back over the first-name area in the same way. | Match |
| Starting and ending strokes | Starts with a horizontal lead-in on the E. Ends with a rightward tail after the oval. Resolution is too low to judge taper. | R1, R4 and R7 show a horizontal E entry and a long tapered rightward terminal. | Natural variation |
| Line quality and speed | Strokes look smooth and continuous with no visible tremor, but the image is low-resolution and the marker is thick black over busy artwork. | Fast, fluent marker lines throughout. | Not assessable |
| Pen pressure pattern | Ink density looks fairly even, typical of a broad paint/Sharpie marker. Pressure variation cannot be resolved. | Marker signatures in the references also show little pressure modulation. | Not assessable |
| Spacing | Tight middle letters, with the oval spanning wide to the right. | Same tight-then-wide rhythm in R2, R4 and R7. | Match |
| Flourishes and inscriptions | Separate blue inscription 'Luffy' above the signature, plus small blue heart/check marks scattered around it. | R4 has a character-name inscription and hearts in a second color. R5/R6 have a 'Luffy' inscription. R7/R8 have an 'Eevee' inscription and hearts in R8. | Match |
| Placement and size | Large, centered over the lower text box. It is a natural hand-signed placement, not a printed facsimile position. | Large, prominent placement on each item. | Match |
Examiner notes
Our card is a 2024 One Piece 2nd Anniversary tournament promo (P-043), so it was signed in 2024 or later. References R1–R3 (GalaxyCon JSA Funko Pops), R7/R8 (Eevee Pops) and R4 (Flareon card) appear to be modern convention-era signatures, roughly 2019–2024. R5/R6 (Luffy figure) is likely a similar recent convention signing. No major era gap is apparent. Her modern signature is a fast, simplified convention form: a large looped 'E', compressed 'rica', a large oval for the surname initial, and a long rightward terminal. Ours fits that form.
How Crown authenticates autographs: the signature is compared with known examples gathered from Crown's own authenticated cards, independent authenticators and public listings, measured by software, examined by an AI forensic model, and signed off by Crown Grading staff. The decision above is Crown's.
